Out of Deseperation an Idea

The ThumBee Mitten was born one night out of pure desperation. After what seemed like the 100th time our son’s pacifier falling out of his mouth, and the instant ear piercing crying, I told my husband there has to be a
better solution!

At that very moment, I realized that if I could just figure out how to keep his
pacifier attached to his hand by his thumb that he would always be able to put it into his mouth.

Time for Action

The very next day, with my 8-week old son in tow, I went to the fabric store and by that night the very first ThumBee was created!

We are fortunate to connect with the University of Iowa's Protostudios to bring this revolutionary solution to life!

A Journey of years

I wish I could say creating Thumbeemitt was as easy. It's taken years for two midwestern born and raised parents, a lot of love, and a whole lot of work in addtion to full-time jobs and 2 amazing children.

I am a former neonatal intensive care RN with a passion for nurturing developmental growth and ensuring baby safety.

My husband has a background in getting things done, building relationships and finding and finding a better solution to any "no" answer!

Six, yes SIX years in the making. Trial and error, testing, rinse and repeat! Then everything from finding someone to make them only after hundreds of steps for the FDA Certification alone, a critical certification for us.

And in all our spare time, we even got a United States Patent #111,641,896!
